Does the beauty parlor treatment work for hair loss?

Generally, all the beauty parlors offer some kind of hair treatment. Like Lakme, Kaya skin clinic etd. They are exorbitantly costly but does any of it actually work? If not, does any one know how to stop hair loss? Has anyone tried Ayurvedic ?Does the beauty parlor treatment work for hair loss?
tryed it and didn't work my g friend dumped me over it

Damed parlorsDoes the beauty parlor treatment work for hair loss?
no

Try Homeopathic (Arnika hair oil)

Mix castor oil and almond oil on the roots and leave for an hr then wash hair the way you normally do
absolutely not.
try Dr.batra's homoeopathy clinic
no
no .. all are of no news.........
I am loosing my hair at a very fast pace. If you put it back in hair clips, or in pony tails, it will put a strain on the roots and cause your hair to fall out, also if you wear hats, it will cause the hair to rub loose nad fall out. I was diagnosed with PCOS (polycyctic ovary syndrom) which causes a very high testosterone level in women. It causes hair loss. And hits females of any age. High testosterone even causes men to loose hair. It could even be genetic. Beauty parlors can claim to be able to treat it, but after many years and many different ways of trying to stop it, I have found that the doctors are right, parlors cannot do anything about it. They can make your hair softer and appear thicker, but they can not make it grow back. you can sto ppulling your hair back %26amp; wearing hats this can make it grow back slowly, go see an endocrinologist to see if you have PCOS, if so, they can put you on meds to lower your testosterone level, and this can help reverse your hair loss. also, the ONLY thing that has helped me otherwise is Rogaine for women. Good luck.
You better go to homeopathy clinic. It helped me a lot.
No, u have to consult some good doctor.
The parlor treatments didnot work on me then i tried some ayuvedic ways.

Take a half squeezed lemon and and rub it on your head once a month.

Secondly ever week massage your head with coconut oil.

Here comes a smelly way but it is worth the effort. Once a month apply an egg on your head.

I hope this works.
theres no way to stop hair loss. Look at the rogaine commercials it even says at the bottom that some ppl wont have any reaction to it. i love bald men personally tho !!!!! but hair plugs are the only way to cover up balding theres absolutely no way to stop it or else trust me u would know !! to me theres nothing sexier than a man w/ a nice in shape body and a bald head !!!

What is the origin of the blonde-hair, blue-eyed image of beauty?

I'm doing a research paper in which i am examining beauty. I have found that beauty has many ideals and many origins. However i would like to know the origin of the blonde-hair blue-eyed image. What is the origin of the blonde-hair, blue-eyed image of beauty?
Playboy magazine. What is the origin of the blonde-hair, blue-eyed image of beauty?
i think hitler kicked that one off
    Marilyn monroe
    european..... :)

Y is it that the ideal beauty is blonde hair blue eyes?

why not blonde hair green eyes? where does the idea blonde hair blue eyes come from . its been the popular thing even before world war 2 so no one tell me that.Y is it that the ideal beauty is blonde hair blue eyes?
Not sure, but here are a couple of ideas from things I've read:

Blonde hair: Reminds men of youth. For reproductive purposes, the more you can appear like a young girl the more attractive you are.

Blue eyes: Your pupils are more easily visible, and your attraction and emotions can be read easier.Y is it that the ideal beauty is blonde hair blue eyes?
That's a bunch of baloney, and the fact that it's been around a long time doesn't make it true, ya know. I think cosmetic companies probably pay a lot of money to keep up that old LIE.

The ideal beauty for me has always been my gf, no matter what color hair/skin/eyes she had.
Blue eyes and blond hair are the perfect combination. In fact, a recent study concluded that girls with light eyes and fair hair - such as myself - are more likely to be sexually selected - too bad blue eyes and blond hair are recessive . . .
I think its because it's associated with being white, and having bh be is only a ';white thing'; I'm not saying thats what people are thinking, but thats whats been instilled in peoples heads since way back when.

sorry if that sounded confusing these things make more sense in my head then when I type them
I don't know what the big deal is. I think darker hair is better and green eyes are cool. blonde hair and i think blue eyes started as a birth defect and use to be really uncommon. maybe thats why cause people saw it as something special.
lol who says it's ideal beauty. It's my ideal beauty though but I can guarantee it's not just blonde hair blue eyes.

*cough*MeganFox*cough*. People think she's so beautiful, she's hot but no where near beautiful, but everyone else thinks so.

You get what I mean lol?
i don麓t think so, the most beautiful people in the world are said to be the European mediterraneans and they don麓t really have those features unless you go to the north.
The media's version of ';ideal beauty'; is blonde hair, blue eyes, that does not mean that everyone shares this mindset.

I personally believe that brunettes are more attractive.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
    secret nazi conspiricies of course.
Sure as hell aint in my book.
I don't know. Not my type personally.

All mixed race and black girls, a hair & beauty question?

I am mixed race with relaxed afro hair, can any of you girls tell me how you look after your hair etc?

Also to any of you over 30 (i am 34) do you find you look younger compared to your white friends? All mixed race and black girls, a hair %26amp; beauty question?
Well, after i relax my hair, it's straight, but just a little frizzy and sticks out like most people...

And we have more melanin than most caucasians, so our skin tends not to age as quickly as others. All mixed race and black girls, a hair %26amp; beauty question?
DO NOT USE any kinda of hair oil cause i reckon it ruins your hair. I use dark %26amp; lovely hair lotion thingy cause it smells nice and it keeps your hair soft and shiny. Use it just after you wash you hair, apply it wet and then dry it, then straighten it, it protects it from the heat and doesn't dry it out. But honestly, using as little product as possible is better for your hair, you only need to use it once and thats just after you wash it.

    Btw im 18 %26amp; i look young anyways :)
you have to knw wht type is ur hair before..is it dry, chapped or oily..strong. or weakk?%26gt; then u decide on hw to treat it.

How much does it cost to get your hair cut at a beauty school?

my friends told me that it's cheaper there and that they try really hard to get it the way you want 'cause they have to be graded, but i can't find anything about prices on the internet. How much does it cost to get your hair cut at a beauty school?
I'm sure it varies, but I went to one in San Francisco, and the Gene Juarez school in Seattle, and both were around $10, $6.50 with a student ID (from any school). I've been going to hair schools for haircuts for four years and I've never had an unsatisfactory cut; they've been practicing on mannequins for a long time and know what they're doing, and they have experienced people checking on them who will fix anything that's not perfect. The one downside is that it takes probably twice as long, since they take longer to cut your hair and it also takes them a while to find their instructors to check your hair when they're done.

    EDIT:

Oh, and my sister used to go to one of these schools and said getting a tip was rare, so there's more savings for you!

some schools allow you to go work at a hair salon and watch and help around. you learn alot. even asking for a part time job at a local hair salon (maybe not a huge one, but a tiny small business salon is nice.) you'd just clean up and help around (you dont cut hair or do anything like that), and most lady's or men will be willing to let you watch and learn, and maybe even teach you a few things, but you have to go to beauty school if you want to do peoples hair. they might ask you to wash peoples hair now and then. its really good experience to watch them cut, dye, ect peoples hair and see how its done. also... you can buy those big doll heads in toy stores, there not that much money.(they make them for girls to braid and such, but you can cut the hair, wont be the same as real hair though..) they would be good to practice on if you really needed to.but for now though, my advice is watch and learn until you get the opportunity for beauty school. and i wouldn't try cutting someones hair, or your own until you have somewhat of an idea what to do.

I am 34, i have been using Garnier, Streax, Godrej hair dye, Indica hair dye to cover my grey, in fact white hair. Initially they used to work, i dont know, may be these products have lessened the quality, hence none of these are working, the coverage stays hardly for three days. Please suggest me some products, or home meade remedies to help me out...Is there any beauty product to give my hair the grey coverage?
how important is is to u not to have gray hair.? go to the salon it's less than a tank of gas to get it done right and you'll be happy. and your hair will be healthier.people who do their own hair look like they do their own hair.Is there any beauty product to give my hair the grey coverage?
There is a product at Sally Beauty Supply Stores called 'Gray Magic' ....The use of about 10 to 20 drops added to your formula will help cover the gray. Hence, Gray Magic! Don't freak out over the color of the product as you put it in your formula as it has a orange rust color coming out of the bottle, and does not effect the end color, it just allows the gray hairs to be covered.

Where in Chicago can i get help trying to start my own beauty salon for hair?

where do i go to get my licence so i can open up my own place and how can i rent a building and how much is that going to cost me. im only 17 but when i move to chicago i'll be 19.Hoping to have my beauty school finished by then but if now i'll do it in chicago. but i dont know my way aroundWhere in Chicago can i get help trying to start my own beauty salon for hair?
I just found this website. It will help answer all the questions that you might have about opening your own salon. It contains a cheklist of what you will need, as well as fun stuff like sample floor plans.

Take Care!!!!!!Where in Chicago can i get help trying to start my own beauty salon for hair?
beauty school in Illinois is 1500 hours, which translates into 9 months full time and costs about 10 thousand dollars. ( they have payment plans and student loans) then you must pass a state board exam to receive your license Report Abuse

First and foremost, there is a beauty shop on almost every corner! They are everywhere here. To start opening a place you need thousands! If you dont have that kind of money, maybe you can grab a loan from the bank. Or you can rent a place, but rent is in the thousands! I dont think you can start off downtown--Its way tooo expensive. You can obtain your license from the state's website. Your school should help you with That. Huns, keep in mind you need lots of experience for people to trust you with their hair and to be a repeat customer. I wish you good luck!

Is there any beauty secrets to getting hair shiny and healthy?

My hair is very dry and crunchy; I want shiny, soft, healthy hair. My hair is like this now because I dyed it about 3 or 4 times before and I know put stuff in it to make it less frizzy and tease it too look tincker casue my hair is really thin. =[ But ya and I also use '; hot tools';!

PS. I heard that olive oil does something...but idkIs there any beauty secrets to getting hair shiny and healthy?
YES!! This is a freakin miracle, i've been recommending it to everyone!!

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r0kvwQYHZ鈥?/a>

All natural too!!Is there any beauty secrets to getting hair shiny and healthy?
I'd invest in making an appointment with a professional. If your hair is dry and crunchy then you have done some serious damage. You need a deep conditioning system, something that you can leave in. And you need to start using something to protect your hair from the heat styling tools. There are some pretty good hair serums on the market that you can pick up at any drugstore that will protect against heat. If your hair is currently colored then invest in shampoo and conditionor especially designed for color treated hair. If you use a brush when styling stop, start using a wide tooth comb, this will cut down on breakage and split ends. Same thing when untangling wet hair.
first it is important for you to let you hair grow out, to that the damaged hair can be restored (this means that you shouldn't dye or use hot tools without protection)

1.) try to shampoo only 2 to 3 times a week. your natural oils will make your hair less frizzy and it will give it natural shine

2.) shampoo and condition with products that will help with damages hair

3.) Stay away from hot tools unless you are using a good amount of protection

4.) buy a shine serum to put in your hair after you have styled it.
i had the same problem from my old straightener that i used to use but then i switched to braun straightener it makes the hair really silky and shiny and it makes it to look healthy as well and it wont damage ur hair much as it has ceramic plates i really do recommend it , it is called braun es1 straightener i bought it from 3 days and i am really really happy with it about the olive oil yes it repairs and strengths the hair
part of your problem is dying your hair. if you want nice healthy hair, you should stick to your natural colour and try not to dye/hightlight it. straightening your hair is also bad.. if you like straight hair though, that's a toughy. olive oil is supposed to help, but i use pantene pro-v and that tends to help my hair as the ends tend to get dry and crunchy. i use it once every week, it works well.
I have found some good tips in following link, It may be good for you too

How much would hair extensions cost at a regular beauty parlor?

I'm not talking like super cuts, or an old lady salon, but also not a Jessica Simpson salon either. How much would hair extensions cost at a regular beauty parlor?
Cost depends on a number of factors. The type of hair extension, the amount of hair used, the length of hair or the look desired. Also, geography plays a part. NYC, LA, Chicago, will be more expensive that smaller towns across the USA, due to expenses incurred by the salon.

A top of the line hair extension system like Great Lengths, HairDreams, Remylinks, will cost more because of the premium nature of the hair. It costs the salon more money to buy, hence the added costs to the customer. To add body to hair, figure you need $600 and up, to add length, figure $1500 and up.

There are more affordable methods. In general with what I said earlier, the duration the extension lasts, plays a factor in price also. If it last a couple of months, it will be cheaper than something that lasts up to 6 months. You can get a system like UltraTress and Simplicity for around $500, which is an affordable option.

Be careful just judging on price. If it cost $200 for full head of hair extensions, stay away. They will probably destroy your hair.

Use only 100% Natural Remy Human Hair Extensions. Avoid Synthetic, and make sure the person is a licensed hair dresser. How much would hair extensions cost at a regular beauty parlor?

    Answer, just for you.

So they have the look of constant arousal.

    Anyway.

    Practice good daily hygiene.

    Have a sunny disposition.

Wear hair and clothes that brings out your best features, and everyone will notice there is something special about you.
You might try watching some of the TV shopping channels as they generally sell what is currently in style and the models have current hair styles and makeup. They sell everything from cosmetics and hair products to clothing and accessories. Between that and looking around your local stores you should get a pretty good idea.

Having said that... Create your own style. It's far better to be yourself than to follow the herd.
I don't care about any of that crap.

    Halloween makeup!

That's a big thing right now, since it's almost halloween.

And a good thing to go for is using cheap makeup, and show people certain ways to use it to get a nice look, and make it look expensive.

People are trying to save as much money as they can now.

Is there any beauty product to give my hair the grey coverage?

  • Where in Chicago can i get help trying to start my own beauty salon for hair?

in 2 years im moving to chicago. i would like to do a beauty school programe i heard they take 10 weeks. then i can able to do people hair and charge them right?

but i also want to open up my own place. i need to know what i have to do to do that and how much money i need to start saving to get it? and where is the best place in downtown chicago to open a hair salon.

where do i go to get my licence so i can open up my own place and how can i rent a building and how much is that going to cost me. im only 17 but when i move to chicago i'll be 19.Hoping to have my beauty school finished by then but if now i'll do it in chicago. but i dont know my way aroundWhere in Chicago can i get help trying to start my own beauty salon for hair?

I have been using the remy hair from http://www.visionremyhair.com and it's been good quality for a decent price. But Require the minimum order. though. They special order them.

It's far better to be yourself than to follow the herd.

it is great i have not tried it i only looked at it.I was wondering how the hair/beauty salon in Sears was. Has anyone tried it? What are the prices like?
Prices are steep , and the hair dressers are usually right out of school .Plus they do try and sell you products because that is what they re told to do . They have to sell a certain amount and they have a certain amount of time to do each service , say , 30 mins. for a cut and style . 2 hours for a perm , or color . I know many stylists who worked there and they weren't happy . Plus I had to do so many repairs , on clients who went there , the hair was a sloppy mess, because they were rushed .

  • Can you dye Clip in hair extensions from Sally beauty supply?

I'll be getting some Clip in hair extensions at Sally beauty supply, they're blonde and 100% human hair.

I want to know if it's okay to dye theses extensions.

specifically the ones from Sally beauty supply.

if youve dyed the clip in extensions from Sally beauty supply before please tell me about your experience and how the hair turned out. dry? damaged? same? okay? soft?

thanks. Can you dye Clip in hair extensions from Sally beauty supply?
Yeah! I buy my extensions from there all the time.

Don't dye them constantly though; the dye will stick to them, I had blonde ones and died them hot pink, blue, green, ect. x]

The hair turns out just the same. Can you dye Clip in hair extensions from Sally beauty supply?
yeah i was wonderin that also cause i changed my natural hair color to brown but now i want it black and i want to dye my hair extensions also. would it damage it and is it safe Report Abuse

yes it's ok to dye if 100% human hair
why are you dying your extensions? if you want to put streaks in your hair or something, many beauty supply places (sally included) sell extensions in different colors that you can clip in for the same effect as dying streaks in your hair. unless you just can't find extensions in your hair color, and you want to die them to match. if thats the case, hair dyes probably wont work anyway--- go to a salon .

Should i leave a tip for getting a hair cut at a beauty school?

The cut and style was already so cheap. I did leave a tip, although i noticed no one else was leaving one. What do u think?Should i leave a tip for getting a hair cut at a beauty school?
Know that they are there to learn not to make money...

    But...

Seeing as my wife tips everybody, I think you probally made their day ...lol

And probally encouraged them to finish school. Most people are so cheap, Good for you.

Hope that helps....Should i leave a tip for getting a hair cut at a beauty school?
no, in class we were never expecting it. the job doent cpst much and we would get like a .50 tip- ide rather not have it at all.....we just do it for experience with no liability.
Yes, it's common sense. When I was in bueaty school I never once went without getting a tip. If they do a really good job give them a good tip. After all your saving money from going to a big salon. Bueaty school was so expensive for me and when I missed hours, I had to pay for the hours that I missed!! I only had time for a job a couple hours a day and I was so tired after being on my feet for 8 hours a day. Please be kind
You dont have to do it, but its nice to do. I usally go to my good friend and she cuts mine. I give her a $10 tip because shes my friend and she does one heck of a good job!
Tips aren't required but I always give them $5 anyway (unless they screw up!).
Yes, 15% just like at a ';real'; salon.
It's a personal decision. If you are satisfied

with the service,by all means .Encouraging a

good worker will pay off. Everybody wins.
While they might not be required, I would leave a tip, especially if you liked the way she cut it. Just leave her a little something to encourage her and let her know she's doing a good job.
did you like the way she cut it????if she did a good job I would tip....
All service workers are in jobs which, should be tipped. But you do not tip if you are not pleased with the service rendered you. But it is a way to show that you have been pleased with their services.
No, beauty schools do not require tips.

What's a good website that shows tips on African American Hair styles and beauty secrets?

Well, if you are looking for the Beyonce bounce look no further than a good weave job! I checked out www.motionshair.com the other day and it had some pretty good tips as well as different styles based on the shape of your face. Seriously though, you are looking in vain if you are trying to get a look that is not truly theirs(Beyonce). What's a good website that shows tips on African American Hair styles and beauty secrets?
This is a really good one whether you have straight or curly or whatever style hair. You should ask for advice from your hairdresser.

Is it contraindicated to color your hair at beauty salon if you are pregnant?

yes, but they do have special dyes that can use on pregnant women. ask your stylist. Is it contraindicated to color your hair at beauty salon if you are pregnant?
As a Cosmetologist I know you may go ahead and color your hair. It would be fine. Sometimes pregnant women experience allergic reactions or the hair doesnt come out exactly the right color but these are rare. Just give it a try. Should be fine.Is it contraindicated to color your hair at beauty salon if you are pregnant?
    i would wait
It is absolutely fine to colour your hair at a salon when you are pregnant, and no, we do not use special colour that are only for pregnant women. It is a myth that you cannot have it done, if anything, I am living proof, I worked full time hairstyling durring both of my pregnancies, and I had no complications, and 2 very healthy children.
it depends on what country you live in to as to what the recomendations are.

Im a colour tech and i have coloured plenty of women who are preggers.. the UK laws are that this is fine ....

however, you should be aware that there are some chemicals that are classed as being Carsongenic ( ie. known to be cancer causing / have a connection to cancer in certain conditions). your own body has lots of natural defences agaisnt things like these but it becomes a judgement call of your own as to whether you want to have these products applied directly to your skin where they can enter the blood stream and naturally that of the unborn child.

My understanding is that you would only need to be a bit concerend about this if you are having a full head colour with level 3 - permenant colour.

If the thought bothers you then you may want to swap to either a Quasi or veggie, or at least high lights or low lights for the term of your pregnancy.

Main thing is to keep this in perspective. In the modern day we are subject and open to lots of things that are bad for us, and our bodies are very good at defending us and looking after us.

If having your hair done makes you feel on top of the world that is going to out weigh any mild risk in my opinion.
It is fine to color your hair but I'd suggest wearing one of those medical masks as breathing in the fumes may make you nauseous and I wouldn't recommend getting your hair done without it.

Has anyone ever paid to have thier hair cut a beauty/hair cutting college or school?

Are they worth the money to pay for a haircut? What is the typical price for a haircut a beauty/hair cutting college? How good of a haircut would you get for$5?What are people's experinces been like getting your hair cut at places like this? Were they good or bad?Has anyone ever paid to have thier hair cut a beauty/hair cutting college or school?
yup i have. i think i payed 7? i dont remember. but they did a really good job. they dont cut clients hair until the end of the class so theyre usually fine. i also got my hair highlighted by a student and it turned out amazingly. hope this helps!!Has anyone ever paid to have thier hair cut a beauty/hair cutting college or school?
I went to a beauty school and the price was cheap but beware they havent had much hands on experience... They could mess up your hair quite seriously Im still recovering its been 11/2 years and my hair is still f*cked
With hair cuts you might be in luck. I went to one once to get my hair braided and it was terrible!! Of course, hair braiding is more complicated than a hair cut, but while I was there I saw some people getting their hair cut and they looked nice.
Um.. my sister got her hair cut at a Milan university thing. They didn't do too bad, it looked pretty decent for $30. I also got my eyebrows done for $5... it was the best $5 dollars i ever wasted!
5 dollar haircuts, I dunno. Its like you win some and you lose some. Sometimes I get a fantastic haircut and other times it comes out looking like crap and requiring me to shave my head. Sooo yeah, if you;re feeling lucky, go for it.
yes and they did a great job

Do you think its a very BAD idea to get hair highlighted by beauty STUDENTS?

We have a hair school about 15 min from me that is cheaper than a regular salon because it is students. I really dont have the money to go to an all out salon %26amp; get my hair tipped. You think they would do an ok job?Do you think its a very BAD idea to get hair highlighted by beauty STUDENTS?
They might if the teachers are supervising. Usually when the students are doing colors, the teachers always have to supervise because it is a chemical that they are working with for safety reasons. I am a hairstylist and when we started using color, the teacher always mixed it while we observed and applied it as well. They only let a student do this when they know they are ready. Go to the school and ask about the proceedure and what to expect. I think they can do an okay job.Do you think its a very BAD idea to get hair highlighted by beauty STUDENTS?
No, because a lot of girls have done hair and makeup their whole lives practicing on their friends and family. I would definitely have my hair done by beauty students.
no its very bad to odo such things if you can find a cheaper salon thats just good
    a highlight should be okay

even if it goes wrong, you can always re-dye it again

    but never try a haircut!

you cant fix a messed up haircut without having it shortened =)
Oh my lord, I had such a bad experience with a student ,they cut my shoulder lenghth hair into a bob but it was crooked so they cut it shorter, this went on until ,and I swear this is true,my hair was just below my ears,AND i was going to a wedding the next day.Good luck.
    NO, their just trainees
Look... the way I see it... if you don't have your styling license... you are not touching my hair!! I don't think you would want to be somebody's guinea pig!!
Yes, beauty school students are supervised so they generally do a good job. First make sure you get them to do a test to check you are not allergic to their products.
go for it the good thing is with places like that is that they are cheaper and sometimes you come out looking better than when you went in. Pus they cant really mess up because they are constantly supervised by professionals and if if something does go wrong the professionals would know how to fix it.
I don't think it's a bad idea. The students are closely monitored by the instructors. If the student seems to be having some trouble, or appears to not be doing something correctly, the instructor will guide them through or sometimes the instructor will take the scissors and finish the job herself.
no way! i get my hair done all the time by beauty students. lots of tricky things too. layers angles highlights all at once. they're great at it and eager to learn and are sometimes a lot nicer than regular hair stylists!
    yes i would
not a bad idea if they are well supervised
yes I think is it a bad a idea. For the simple fact that the girl's working there are praticing and learning how to still. But for maybe something less harded, like a trim.
It would be fine. A beauty school is just that. Students learning. I have been many times and my hair always turns out just fine. The teachers will only allow students to do what they know they are good at. They are not going to put you with a student who just started a week ago. The students that will be coloring your hair will be the ones that will be graduating the soonest and know what they are doing. Also, the teachers are there watching, helping %26amp; advising the students the entire time.

If it would make you feel more comfortable, when you go into the facility just ask whom ever they schedule you with how long before they graduate. That will give you an answer right away. I have never had a bad experience %26amp; would recemend it to anyone.
i dont think its bad. its lot cheaper. every salon u go to so expensive, even for a trim. they do geat job. even if they do anything wrong, their supervisor/tutor is always there to fix it and give you more dicount as it went slightly wrong.
Having your hair done by beauty students is a great idea. It saves you money and gives them practice. Just because they aren't licensed yet, doesn't mean they don't know what they are doing. They are learning - but the school wouldn't let them use live models if they didn't know what they were doing. I have done this before and it was the BEST hair color I have EVER gotten. And it was SO cheap Plus, they usually have a supervisor watching them to make sure they don't mess anything up.
I think its a good idea and its much cheaper. But make sure that when you make your appointment to always ask for your hair to be done by a senior student because they have more experience and they usually do a better job. Been there and done that. Trust me
My daughter recently had her hair cut and highlighted by a student. The trainer stood with the student at all times, did most of the cutting and highlighting and gave a running commentary all the time the work was being done. She paid 拢20 for it, but would normally have had to pay at least 拢70. It's a good deal if you ask me, but pick a salon that monitors the student at all times.
try it at your own risk, u have to sign a waver before u can get it done.....p.s. u get what u pay for.

  • What are some ways to thin your hair, without going to a beauty parlor?

I am a guy trying to grow his hair out, having thick hair makes it puffy, not a good look for me.What are some ways to thin your hair, without going to a beauty parlor?
I have thick hair too. I have just started using the most amazing stuff ever. It is called Alba very emollient shampoo and conditioner. it is all natural veggie ingredients with no lauryl sulphate (soapy stuff) in it. It sounds granola, but oh my gosh my hair has never ever ever ever felt so soft and calmed down. I'm ALWAYS puffy and frizzy and it just blew me away how it feels after using this combo... go buy some, you'll be glad...What are some ways to thin your hair, without going to a beauty parlor?
Your safest bet is to go to Sally Beauty Supply or another beauty supply that sells to the public and purchase a pair of thinning shears. These shears remove select hairs without cutting them all. They have a smooth cutting blade on one side and notches on the other (some have notches on both sides). The bigger the gap between the notches, the more hair is removed. I suggest that you find a pair with notched blades on both sides because they don't take out as much hair. When you're ready to thin, clip the outer layer of hair up and don't thin it because you'll have little pieces of hair sticking up. Only do the underneath hair. Put the shears about 1 inch from the scalp and make a cut. Comb it and you will see how much hair you removed. If your hair is very long you can make another cut about 2 inches past the first one. Just keep doing this until it is thin enough. If you end up buying the shears that only have one notched side be careful that you don't remove too much hair - don't press the blades all the way together until you understand what you're doing. After a few times you'll be an ole pro!
Use a really cheap shapoo..You will loose a lot of hair..
you can buy a thinning combe,,,just run it through the underside of your hair,,it has little blades built inside of it
You might want to consult with a good beautician who can perform the correct techniques so that your hair will appear thinner
just by paul michel stuff it really works and if you dont want to then look online google type in homemade hair thinner.
buy some thinning shears and use them. They actually have them at the 99cent stores so you don't have to pay a fortune, they work!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am looking for a good hair and beauty salon in fort worth arlington area?

    Here is a list.

If you're a hair stylist or have done the programs from beauty school to cut hair, do nails do u like your job?

im considering to go to a beauty school but i want to know if its worth it? whats the least u can get paid? and the most? pros and cons?If you're a hair stylist or have done the programs from beauty school to cut hair, do nails do u like your job?
If you have a passion for something, like beauty or cosmetology you should pursue it. Many people follow career paths for the wrong reasons and end up changing anyway. Beauty School advisor has a great site to answer many of your questions!

Which is better--to get my hair dyed at a beauty salon or at home with store brand hair dye?

What is the difference specifically?Which is better--to get my hair dyed at a beauty salon or at home with store brand hair dye?
a lot of it depends on what exactly you want to do to your hair... if you are dying it a color just slightly darker than your natural hair color (ex. dark blond to light brown) you should be able to do it at home with satisfactory results.

If you are going for a drastic color change, or if you are wanting to lighten your hair at all, it's worth it to pay extra to have a professional do it.Which is better--to get my hair dyed at a beauty salon or at home with store brand hair dye?
well ussually when i die my hair at home it doesnt comeout exactly the way i wanted it but at the salon it comes out better
if you know someone who dyes their hair and you can trust them get them to do it for you much cheaper especially if your not used of putting dye in your hair other wise go to a hairdressers. my friend did mine had hair appointment the next next day just incase it went wrong but even got compliments from the hairdresser on how well it was done
If you want really good result, it would be best to go to the salon to get it professionally done cuz they usually use the best products there is, and they have staff who have been taught to do it the best way possible.

You can opt to do it yourself, but you can make a lot of mistakes, especially if the dye you bought is no good. I'd rather go get it professionally done if I were you, unless I was fully confident of my ability to dye my own hair.
Having done both, I prefer a salon. More expensive, but this is a case of you get what you pay for. Also, if you have long hair, one box may not be enough, and buying 2, well you are getting close to a salon price. Plus, it's super messy. The stylist at a salon can help you pick a color that will suit you best, and can custom mix colors to get it just right.

What color roses to give to hair stylists at the beauty salon i go to?

I go to this beauty salon and i dont really know all of them there, but for valentines i would like to send roses to them. They are pretty cute girls in there, so what color rose would be best to give someone that you dont know but you like them? Its just to build a relationship of friendship.

Also how should i do it? should i have someone drop them off for me? should i put a note or have their name on each rose?

I want this to be a surprise and maybe secret. What color roses to give to hair stylists at the beauty salon i go to?
    Yellow roses for sure..

What i would do is if you want them eatch to have one, put a small card on eatch one.. Then have them sent over there and handed out...

    Thats really sweet..

Deb :)What color roses to give to hair stylists at the beauty salon i go to?
Yellow roses are supposed to be for friendship, but I have to say that I've never really liked the yellow ones for Valentine's day; I'd go for pink ones. You might consider sending each one a small arrangement of (perhaps) three blossoms; I'm sure that you'll be fine if you simply put ';Happy Valentine's Day'; on the card.
you should have someone to drop for them, yes, a note will do for each name...............not only roses...........but like a bouquet of different flowers. maybe the florist can help you choose the best ones..........

  • Has anyone ever paid to have thier hair cut a beauty/hair cutting college or school?

Are they worth the money to pay for a haircut? What is the typical price for a haircut a beauty/hair cutting college? How good of a haircut would you get for$5?What are people's experinces been like getting your hair cut at places like this? Were they good or bad?Has anyone ever paid to have thier hair cut a beauty/hair cutting college or school?
My husband %26amp; I regularly have our hair done by a hair %26amp; beauty collage, the price can vary depending on what type of hair cut or style you want done. They also do a good job with hair dye, tips, perms, body waves etc.

The trainees usually do a very good job, and the trainers will check the style and cut before you leave, to ensure the cut or style is even etc. (I have only had 1 mediocre cut in the three years)

The only down side is it can take a bit longer to have hair cut and styled, but the lower cost off sets the time spent in the chair, you would be wise to make sure your car is parked into a long term park. It can take up to an 1- 1 1/2 hours, about 30-45 for a mens cut.

The beauty side is equally good, and the trainers will also check the end result. I have my eyebrows waxed at the hair %26amp; beauty collage too, and very pleased with the result.

I usually pay about $16 (Australian dollars) for a wash, cut and blow dry, my hubby pays about $11 for a wash and cut, if I went to a regular hair dresser I'd pay about $60 for mid length hair.

What's a good website that shows tips on African American Hair styles and beauty secrets?

It's so hard searching for good links. I specifically want to find a site that shows the best way to get moveable, bouncy straight hair, a la Beyonce in the ';Me Myself %26amp; I'; video. Any link (appropriate) will be helpful! Thanks :)What's a good website that shows tips on African American Hair styles and beauty secrets?
Well, if you are looking for the Beyonce bounce look no further than a good weave job! I checked out www.motionshair.com the other day and it had some pretty good tips as well as different styles based on the shape of your face. Seriously though, you are looking in vain if you are trying to get a look that is not truly theirs(Beyonce). What's a good website that shows tips on African American Hair styles and beauty secrets?
This is a really good one whether you have straight or curly or whatever style hair. You should ask for advice from your hairdresser.

Actually there's another one here that's better www.blackhairmedia.com/hairstyles.htm
You might want to try a lace front wig...that's what Bey had in the video. They're expensive but you'll get the look you're going for

How much should one tip(if one is supposed tip) when one has ones hair done at a Beauty School?

I had my hair colored and cut at a beauty school(total cost $17.50) and then tipped the person who did my hair $2 and was told by a co-worker afterward that I did not tip enoughHow much should one tip(if one is supposed tip) when one has ones hair done at a Beauty School?
When it comes to a beauty school, you should tip on what it would cost at a regular place. You're already saving money on the cut and color.

I'd say at least a $10 minimum if it was a couple of hours!

That being said, even if you wanted to just use the % rule, 15% is more than $2..it's almost $3. If they did a good job, 20%, which is about $4...and that's just tipping on what you paid, not what it's worth! How much should one tip(if one is supposed tip) when one has ones hair done at a Beauty School?
    about 15% is OK

More importantly, were you satisfied with the service? Did you feel it was worth more than a $2 tip? If so, you should have tipped more. If not, let it go.

    When it comes to tips, ';TIPS= to 'insure' proper service';

Can anyone give me some hair and beauty tips ?

Please...oh yeah and makeup tips would be fine too! Can anyone give me some hair and beauty tips ?
it depends on what you already look like now- post a pic and we'll give you tips!

I have a job interview for receptionist at hair/nail/beauty salon?

I don't have any experience as a receptionist, but I do think I'd be good at it.

Anyone know what I can say to impress them? (I used to use the phone a lot at my last job in a jewellery store, mainly calling in clients for jewellery repairs, or following up on potential clients to ask if they had any more questions on an engagement ring they were looking at)

Also, do you have any tips to give on being a better receptionist?I have a job interview for receptionist at hair/nail/beauty salon?
Being a receptionist at a hair salon can be grueling more than you think, also it depends on the size of the Salon as to what your duties are......you need to be able to make appointments because to them TIME IS MONEY, for the stylist, nail techs, and any other professionals that might be there, you will need to know approximately how long your stylist needs to preform a service such as a cut or color or curl or all the above at one appointment, for the nail tech you will need to know how long they need to preform a pedicure,or manicure,or polish, or set of nail enhancements or all the above at one time, and so on and so forth.

You will need to be famillar with the hair, nail and skin care products they may carry, this will come in time.

You need to have a very outgoing personality.

You need to know how to work a computer, these days most Salons have up to date computers for making change putting in addresses etc.

You need to be to know how to set up shelves and set products in shelves to sell.

You need to know how to sell the person on a product (especially if you make a commission on a sale)

You need to be able to count money, make change, clean toilets as well as clean the floor...yes I said toilets.

You need to know how to take inventory.

    But something that will benifit you is %26gt;%26gt;%26gt;

Have fun, enjoy your job, and tell everyone they look MARVLOUS! when they leave lol!

Being a Salon reciptionist can be very fun and most of the things I mentioned will be learned on the job, it can be overwhelming but once you learn the ropes you might just love it.I have a job interview for receptionist at hair/nail/beauty salon?
smile! and make sure you hair and nails are nice
    Be confident.

Let them know you are an organized individual with excellent people skills. You enjoy interacting with the public. You are inventive in creating procedures that streamline the day-to-day tasks.

And that you are excited to be challenged by the new position, and look forward to the opportunity.

I just went through 300 interviews over the past year, looking for the exact job i wanted, and i just got it... 3 days ago. Doing web design and development for a chain of radio stations.
Hun, your last job pretty much prepared you for being a receptionist. Some places also have you run errands and run the cash till.

Just reassure them that you are a quick study, you've had some experience in the field and that you love salons.

As for being a better receptionist, it just comes with time and is dependent upon what you do. Don't get too upset with angry customers, everyone has a bad day and sometimes you get yelled at for someone elses mistakes.
